Trauma-Focused Therapies

EMDR is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that helps process and resolve distressing memories and traumatic experiences. By using guided bilateral stimulation such as eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck trauma, reducing emotional reactivity and distress. This approach allows clients to access difficult memories safely and replace them with healthier, more adaptive beliefs and responses.

TF-CBT integrates cognitive behavioral techniques with trauma processing to help individuals understand and reframe the impact of traumatic events. It addresses both the emotional and behavioral effects of trauma, helping clients develop coping skills, reduce avoidance, and regain a sense of safety and control. This approach is especially beneficial for those experiencing post-traumatic stress, anxiety, or depression related to trauma exposure.

CPT helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs developed after trauma, such as guilt, shame, or self-blame. Through structured exercises and discussion, clients learn to re-evaluate these thoughts and replace them with balanced perspectives. CPT supports emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and improved self-esteem, fostering long-term resilience and psychological recovery.

PE and WET are evidence-based methods that help clients gradually confront and process traumatic memories and reminders in a safe, supported setting. Through repeated exposure, spoken or written, clients reduce avoidance behaviors, decrease anxiety, and regain control over their lives. These approaches promote emotional desensitization and help integrate traumatic experiences into a coherent, manageable narrative.
